The Alliance to End Plastic Waste, a coalition of dynamic members driven to develop sustainable solutions to the global plastic waste challenge, engaged Matchfire to develop, manage, and execute a multifaceted litter collection campaign to bring awareness to this newly developed nonprofit, as well as bring awareness to World Cleanup Day. Matchfire led the design and development of the employee engagement campaign, including a dynamic microsite and campaign assets.
The goal of the microsite was to create a fully interactive experience for the user, then driving them to participate in the All_Together Global Cleanup. Using a scrolling animation, the user is led through a story of how they can make an impact by collecting litter. As the user scrolls, more and more trash is collected within the screen until it is all collected—and then the campaign is introduced.
The colorful litter imagery and handdrawn illustrations are layered with a variable type, which further conveys the message of change throughout the site. Texture is shown on the type and images to give the campaign a gritty, layered feel. After the opening experience parallax images of trash can also be seen throughout the site, with a subtle animation to give them an appearance of floating.
