Germ Busters – AR Interactive Book for Children

by Ashley Thong Woon Hui

This project is to target hygiene education for young children. The objective is to engage children to educate and cultivate good personal hygiene habits using of Augmented Reality (AR) technology. The AR app was created in conjunction with our physical book. Children can enjoy reading the book or interact by using the app to scan all pages, revealing 3D hands in motion, showing the proper hand washing steps as seen on posters in schools today. To add an additional element of fun, there are germs surrounding the 3D hands, where users can destroy germs by popping them and earn points!
