Shillington Brief: Design a movie/book/theatre poster or CD/Vinyl cover design using a mix of handmade techniques and design principles, then will be refined on the computer.
Solution: This project utilised Illustrator, Photoshop and collaging techniques to complete a re-design of Tame Impala’s album ‘Currents’. It is inspired by the album’s immersive progression of psychedelic rock tracks and by the drug induced era of the seventies. The collage is made up of flora and fauna sprawling out from a chameleon eye placed over a textured paper starburst. The ‘birds and the bees’ style imagery alludes to the the album’s themes of love, deep introspection, self doubt, and transformation.
