Miotas is a team collaborative project between Interior Design, Graphic Design, and Hospitality majors. It is an extension of Interior Design's project previously, hotel design. This restaurant would be attached to the interior designer's hotel.
Our interior designer, Ashton Smith, based her hotel in Shetland, Scotland. This location would be seaside, and incorporating elements of the ocean.
The hotel also features a theater, where plays would be re-enacting stories of scottish mythology.
We decided that Miotas would be a spot for mythomaniacs to enjoy before or after the theater. This would attract tourists and also locals, as mythological aspects would be deeply researched to respect, not mock, Scottish heritage.
The lighter panels would be featured in the dining area, and the darker panels in the speakeasy downstairs. This goes hand in hand with the craftsmanship aspect that Scotland revolves around.
Our logo and pattern stems from the Corryvreckan Whirlpool, which is located just off the coast of Shetland, and is one of the myths we incorporated into
our panels.
All panels are hand-drawn.
Aspects of graphic design included are:
Logo design
Stationery design
Menu design
Environmental graphics
Promotional design
App design
